Article #3 - Understanding Online DVD Rental Prices

So you want to rent DVD's online but you can't work out which is the best value for money. This article shows how the prices really compare depending on how many DVD's you might watch in any given month.

The number of DVD's you watch in any month makes a big difference to the effective price per DVD that you pay. The table and graph below show what you are effectively paying per DVD that you watch per month.

So, as the table shows you can get to as little as just £0.83 per DVD which is incredible value for money. Achieving this price point requires discipline however. You have to watch and return your DVD the same day as recieiving it and it is advisable to keep a 20 plus list of DVD's in your DVD rental list. Even if you not that disciplined you should be able to get your effective DVD rental rate down to around £1 per DVD which is still much cheaper than renting from the high street!

The chart below shows more clearly at what point the various online DVD Rental providers become more or less compatitive with each other. If your just an occasion DVD watcher then easyCinema or Amazon offer ther better value for money. Interestingly at around 6 DVD's per month there's little diffrence in pricing per DVD. Once you start going beyond 6 DVD's per month the price really starts to fall. Beyond 5 DVD's per month Tesco is the cheapest.
